Silver Medal for Exeter Debaters!
Exeter wins Silver Medal in the State Finals of the Premier's Debating Challenge!
Our fantastic team of Evie, Mark, India and Finlay have defied the odds and managed a Silver Medal in the final of the Premier's Debating Challenge held at Stanwell Tops over the last three days. They have debated many skilled teams from the 11 Education Regions across the state and aquitted themselves very well.
They were beaten in their final debate by the team from Bathurst Public School (population 386!) on the topic 'should the legal drinking age be raised from 18 to 21'!
Well done team! We are very proud of you.

Book Week
This week we are celebrating Book Week at our school. This year's theme is 'Book Safari' and Mrs Nash and the children have enjoyed dressing up the library to reflect the theme.
Today the students are participating in activities relating to the short-listed books, purchasing books from the Book Fair, having a sausage sizzle and then in the afternoon they will have a mini Safari where they will hunt for 'treasure' using clues.

Exeter Wins Premier's Debating Challenge Regional Final!
Evie, Mark, India & Finlay are the Illawarra/South East Debating Champions after competing at the Debating Camp held in Batemans Bay this week. They were the only team from a small school and overcame teams from Illaroo Rd PS, Minnamurra PS and Moss Vale PS to win the final debate.
This is quite an achievement and we are very proud of them. This is another example of the opportunities provided at Exeter for our students.

Exeter's Biggest Morning Tea & Open Classrooms
Many thanks for the support from our local community for Exeter's Biggest Morning Tea held today at school. Your efforts helped to raise more than $700 for cancer research.
It was also wonderful to welcome many visitors to our Education Week open classrooms. The students enjoyed sharing their work with you all.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit their National Capital as part of their civics and citizenship education. To assist withmeeting the cost of the excursion, the Australian Government is contributing funding under the Parliament and Civics Education Rebate (PACER) programme toward the travel expenses incurred.
We would like to thank the Australian Government for their support of this program.
